CBSE introduces on-screen marking for Class 12 boards 2026

CBSE has started using on-screen marking (OSM) for evaluating Class 12 board exam papers. In this system, answer sheets are scanned and checked digitally by teachers. The new process caused a small delay in result declaration as evaluators adjusted to the system. CBSE said the system was tested before implementation. The digital evaluation method helps reduce marking errors and ensures fair checking. CBSE may also introduce this system for Class 10 exams in the future.

CBSE has officially introduced AI and coding education for students from Classes 3-8. The new curriculum will teach Computational Thinking (CT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in an age-appropriate way. Schools and teachers will also receive training and learning materials. The curriculum is designed in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and is scheduled for implementation starting from the 2026-27 academic year.
